I CAN DO ALL THINGS IN GOD WHO STRENGTHENS ME

A Gospel Reflection on the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time - October 11, 2026

We all have times when we wonder if we can handle what life throws at us, when everything feels overwhelming, and our strength seems to run out. A few weeks ago, I was anxious about the Parish Fall Festival. I shared my worries with a member of the Legion of Mary, and her response lifted my spirits. She said she would ask our Blessed Mother to intercede for us and help make the festival a success. That brought me peace. Thanks to the hard work and support of the festival committee, volunteers, and parishioners, everything turned out well and we give thanks to God.

Life brings its share of challenges, but we have a powerful truth to hold onto: with God, we can overcome anything. This is not just a comforting idea. It is a call to act with courage and confidence. God’s promise is for everyone who chooses to trust and act in faith. Whatever we face, we are invited to move forward bravely, knowing our strength comes from God, who is greater than any problem. As we trust in God’s power, let us welcome the opportunities ahead, stay hopeful and determined, and be ready to see what God can do through us.

Philippians 4:13 has a strong message for every believer: our strength comes from God, not from ourselves. Life gives us many challenges and times when we feel we cannot do it alone. In those moments, faith is what holds us up. When we rely on God, we find a strength beyond our own, helping us face hard times with courage and hope.

Determination helps us succeed, but when our determination is rooted in God, it cannot be shaken. If we learn to be content, trust God, and grow in faith, we show others that God is enough for us. When we combine confidence with good deeds, our faith comes alive. In everything we do, God’s strength works in us, guiding us and helping us keep going.

Sometimes obstacles seem too big to handle, but with God’s help, we find the strength to get through them. God’s presence protects us from fear and worry. When we trust Him with our lives, we are never alone, He is always with us, even in tough times. Hope changes how we see things, making our dreams feel possible and giving us energy to keep going. With faith, we can pray, ask for forgiveness, and seek help, knowing God listens and cares for us.

Faith is not just about waiting for things to happen. It calls us to take action. We do not just hope for miracles; we work hard and keep going, even when things get tough. Strong faith encourages us to try again after setbacks, trusting that God will show us new paths when the time is right. Without faith, it is easy to feel discouraged. But when we choose faith, we find hope, strength, and the chance to start fresh.

Faith is a journey with both struggles and successes. Every challenge gives us a chance to trust God more and see His power in our lives. As we rely on Him, our confidence grows, and we encourage others to do the same. We show this courage when we take part in the sacraments, care for the sick, and help those in need. Each act of faith shows God’s lasting strength.

In the end, God promises that all things are possible with Him. When we build a strong faith based on trust and action, we can face life’s challenges with steady hope. Let us support each other to stay strong, knowing God’s strength is always there for those who seek and trust Him.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of faith and for the promise of Your strength in our lives. Help us to trust in You completely, especially when we face challenges that seem impossible. Grant us the grace to persevere with hope, to act with courage, and to love with generosity. May Your Spirit guide our every step and fill our hearts with confidence in Your unfailing power. Strengthen us to do all things according to Your will, for Your glory, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
