Proposition 1 is a worst-case scenario for abortion in California. It is an expensive and misleading ballot measure that allows unlimited late-term abortions — for any reason, at any time, even moments before birth, paid for by tax dollars.
Prop 1 isn’t needed. Sadly, California already has some of the most permissive abortion laws in the nation, but with reasonable limits on late-term abortions — which will still be allowed without the amendment for the life and health of the mother. Prop 1 destroys this common-sense limit.
California does not limit state spending on abortion, and with thousands more traveling from other states, the cost will be in the hundreds of millions. Don’t hand lawmakers a blank check to pay for abortions, and don’t let them make California an “abortion sanctuary.”

Dedication of the Marian Garden
September 8, 2022:
Our new Marian Prayer Garden was blessed and dedicated on the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. All are invited to spend some time in prayer in our beautiful new setting.
FYI: The grotto and "Garden of Gethsemane" area are works in progress and will be completed soon. See artist's rendering in photos below as to how completed Marian Prayer Garden will look.
St Victor Feast Day
July 28, 2022:
St Victor Parish celebrated our Patron Saint Feast Day with an outdoor mass, catered BBQ, music, and family games. The ordination anniversaries of our priests (present and retired)
were also celebrated:
Mgsr Perata: 64 years
Fr Mark: 15 years
Fr John: 20 years
Fr Allen: 13 years
It was a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship.
Jubilee Games for Vocations
The Diocese of San Jose hosted the 2nd Annual Jubilee Soccer Games for Vocations at Archbishop Mitty High School on Saturday, July 30th. Priests and Seminarians competed in a game for the St. Joseph Cup, with high school boys filling out both teams. Fr John captained the Workers (Priests) Team and a group of St Victor parishioners were there to cheer him on. Bishop Oscar Cantú was suited up
and on the field as well. The game was hard-fought and ended in a tie, 2-2.
Sisters and Postulants competed in a second game for the St. Clare Cup, with high school girls filling out both teams. The Sisters competed well, but fell to the Postulants with a final score of 3-1.
It was a fun family event, and support for vocations was successful.
Vacation Bible Camp
Our Vacation Bible Camp, held June 13-17, was a big success. Children and Youths had the opportunity to walk through the Holy Land where Jesus walked, explore authentic marketplace shops, become students in Synagogue School, take part in games, dance to lively songs, and make new friends.
Middle School participants enjoyed the program, Theology of the Body, based on Saint John Paul II's compelling vision for love and life, in a language they understand.
All parishioners were invited to explore the Jerusalem Marketplace on the weekend. Shops were open, delicious food was available, and the barnyard was lively with ducks, a goat, and an alpaca.
We especially thank all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring Jerusalem to life here at St Victor.
